چکیده
UNLABELLED PREMISE OF THE STUDY Ten microsatellite primers were developed to obtain information on genetic variation in Lilium longiflorum, a bulbous species showing high intraspecific genetic differentiation. • METHODS AND RESULTS Of 61 microsatellite loci isolated using the dual suppression PCR technique, 10 loci were effective to characterize and estimate genetic variation in two populations of L. longiflorum. The number of alleles at each locus was different between the populations (averages = 3.2 and 10.3 alleles per locus), and the mean observed heterozygosity values were 0.245 and 0.732. • CONCLUSIONS Our results demonstrate that there is significant genetic variation between the populations and that the microsatellite markers developed in this study will be useful tools for the investigation of the genetic structure and mating system of natural L. longiflorum populations.

Characterization of 13 microsatellite markers for Calochortus gunnisonii (Liliaceae) from Illumina MiSeq sequencing1
PREMISE OF THE STUDY Microsatellite primers were designed for Calochortus gunnisonii (Liliaceae), a montane lily species of the central and southern Rocky Mountains, using next-generation DNA sequencing. The markers will be used to investigate population structure, genetic diversity, and demographic history. METHODS AND RESULTS Thirteen polymorphic microsatellite loci were isolated from C. gu...
متن کاملComparative Genome Analysis and Phylogenetic Relationship of Order Liliales Insight from the Complete Plastid Genome Sequences of Two Lilies (Lilium longiflorum and Alstroemeria aurea)
Monocots are one of the most diverse, successful and economically important clades of angiosperms. We attempt to analyse the complete plastid genome sequences of two lilies and their lengths were 152,793bp in Lilium longiflorum (Liliaceae) and 155,510bp in Alstroemeria aurea (Alstroemeriaceae). Phylogenetic analyses were performed for 28 taxa including major lineages of monocots using the seque...
متن کاملIsolation and characterization of microsatellite markers in an endangered species Dracaena cambodiana (Liliaceae).
UNLABELLED • PREMISE OF THE STUDY The development of microsatellite primers in the endangered species Dracaena cambodiana will be the foundation for genetic and conservation studies of D. cambodiana and several Dracaena species. • METHODS AND RESULTS A total of 26 microsatellite markers were developed in Chinese populations of D. cambodiana, using the Fast Isolation by AFLP of Sequences Con...
متن کاملExploration and Exploitation of Novel SSR Markers for Candidate Transcription Factor Genes in Lilium Species
Lilies (Lilium sp.) are commercially important horticultural crops widely cultivated for their flowers and bulbs. Here, we conducted large-scale data mining of the lily transcriptome to develop transcription factor (TF)-associated microsatellite markers (TFSSRs). Among 216,768 unigenes extracted from our sequence data, 6966 unigenes harbored simple sequence repeats (SSRs). Seventy-one SSRs were...
متن کاملTransformation of Lilium Longiflorum Plants for Cucumber Mosaic Virus Resistance by Particle Bombardment
Lilium species (Liliaceae) are a significant floriculture commodity and one of the three major bulb crops in the commercial market. Lilies are monocotyledonous plants that have been generally recalcitrant to molecular genetic manipulation because of limitations that restrict utilization of transformation technologies that are routinely applied to dicotyledonous plants. Cucumber mosaic virus (CM...
